Man Uts insist club will not pay more than £50m for Jadon Sancho

Man Utd will pay no more than £50m transfer fee for Jadon Sancho this summer

MANCHESTER UNITED will pay no more than £50million to sign Jadon Sancho this summer less than half Borussia Dortmund’s asking price.

The German giants recently revealed they would only sell the England winger for £117m.

But United have come out and said they won’t go over £50m with clubs reeling from the financial repercussions of coronavirus.

Sky Sports report a senior official at Old Trafford confirmed their limit on the England man.

Sancho, is hopeful of a return to England after quitting Manchester City in an £8m deal in 2017.

A host of European giants, including Premier League champions Liverpool, are rumoured to be interested.

But United were deemed to be the only club with enough financial clout to pull off a move this summer.

Yet the latest news suggest Dortmund will have to cave to a much lower valuation or keep hold of Sancho, with the Red Devils standing firm at £50m.

Sancho currently has just two years left on his contract, with his deal set to expire at the end of the 2021-22 season.

And Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke is adamant there will be NO discount on the Three Lions youngster just because of coronavirus and expects to keep him beyond this season.

Watzke told Sport1: “I don’t think a club will pay the sum.

“There is also no coronavirus discount on him.”

Meanwhile, Dortmund appear to have beaten Man Utd to the signing of Birmingham whizkid Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham has been locked in a transfer tug of war between the two sides as he decides on his next move.

And it appears Dortmund have convinced him to take the leap of faith in the Bundesliga after the two clubs reportedly agreed a fee believed to be in the region of £25million with significant future incentives.

The Brummie born wonderkid also believes he will handed more first-team opportunities in Germany as he looks to progress his career.
